Take Action Against DUI Charges

People of all ages, professions and income levels are charged with driving under the influence (DUI), also known as driving while intoxicated (DWI) in some states. In Illinois, the police take these offenses very seriously and do not hesitate to make DUI arrests. Illinois also has some of the strictest DUI laws in the nation.

Don’t let one lapse in judgment upend your future. Attorney Paul Chiligiris knows that you are not a bad person if you are facing a DUI charge, and he wants to help you. Since 1992, he has aggressively protected his clients’ rights throughout central Illinois. Allow him to do the same for you.

Helping You Understand Your Options

After you’ve been arrested on suspicion of DUI/DWI, you must act quickly to protect your driving privileges. If you agreed to take a Breathalyzer with results showing that you were over the legal limit and you are a first offender, your driver’s license will automatically be suspended for six months (statutory summary suspension), unless you take action. If you did not blow, the statutory summary suspension is one year.

Contact Paul G. Chiligiris, Attorney at Law, to learn about your options. If this is the first time you have been charged with DUI, you may be able to keep your license by participating in a class and court supervision program, which will keep the charge off of your record. Or, you may be able to get an ignition interlock device installed in your vehicle that monitors your blood alcohol content.

Paul can also help you fight a DUI conviction. He will analyze the details of your arrest and determine if the traffic stop and breath test were performed properly. You may be able to have your charges dropped or penalties reduced if procedural errors occurred.
